Description
A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind the ear. Hearing is the process of perceiving sound. A hearing loss can restrict communication and social interaction with others causing quality of life to suffer. With so many different shapes, styles and colors, there is a hearing aid to match your individual needs and preferences. Depending on your individual hearing needs, your lifestyle and budget, there are different performance categories that we can office to you. With advanced performance categories, we provide more options and adjustable setting to cater to challenging listening situations. A hearing aid has three basic parts: MICROPHONE, SPEAKER & AMPLIFIER. The hearing aid receives sound through a microphone, which converts the sound waves to electrical signals and sends them to an amplifier. The amplifier increases the power if signals and then sends them to the ear through a speaker. There is different style of hearing aids like following: - BTE – BTE aids sit behind the ear with tubing that routes the sound down into the ear canal via a custom-fit ear mold or tip. BTE styles are available in different colors to match hair or skin tone. Quick to fit, can take home the same day. CIC – A complete in canal (CIC) hearing aid is custom molded. The CIC hearing aid style is for mild to moderately severe hearing losses. It is worn completely in the ear canal and is barely visible for the outside. RIC/RITE - RECEIVER IN CANAL/RECEIVER IN THE HEAR hearing provides a comfortable fit and ease of use. The RIC style is popular with first time wear with mild to severe hearing loss. It delivered sound directly into the ear. This is because the receiver is located outside of the hearing aid itself.
